Boats, power and sail, large and small, will be the order of the day come Sunday (September 13) for the traditional sail past and Blessing of the Fleet off Southport Yacht Club.
It marks the 62nd occasion for he combined Sailpast and Blessing of the Fleet ceremony.
Proceedings begin with entertainment by the Hinterland Community Band at 1400hrs.
At 1455hrs, Father Harold Reuss conducts the Blessing of the Waters as the fleet arrives for the spectacular Sailpast.
Commodore Neale Hollier will make an official address of welcome followed by a call to worship and the official Blessing of the Fleet.
At 1651hrs, the club’s 62nd boating season will be declared open.
A spectacular sunset ceremony at 1700hrs will conclude the day’s event with performances by the Hinterland Community Band and the TS Tyalgum Naval Cadets.
