The iconic Sydney International Boat Show will return to Darling Harbour, August 1-4. Whilst record crowds and exhibitors are anticipated, organisers are aiming to use the Show as a platform to discuss and drive change around wider issues impacting the marine industry.

Boating Industry Association (BIA) President, Adam Smith said, "After 55 years we feel the Sydney International Boat Show has become more than just a trade or consumer show, it has become a celebration of the boating lifestyle and a platform for positive discussions to drive change across our industry and communities.

"All of the issues facing our industry are important to us but for 2024 we have identified three key areas that we will focus on: sustainability and decarbonisation; diversity and inclusion; along with fostering employment and careers in the marine sector. By using this internationally recognised Show as a platform we want to unite and inspire our stakeholders and community to tackle these issues together."

Exhibitors are already advising us of their show displays. TMG Yachts is poised to display a fantastic line up located at the prominent Cockle Bay (City Side) entrance. Prepare to be captivated by the Sydney premiere of the PRESTIGE M48, an unparalleled marvel in the realm of multihull motor yachts. A multi-award-winning design including the illustrious "Design Innovation Award" and "European Powerboat of the Year," the M48 promises an extraordinary fusion of elegance and functionality.

Eyachts are set to make a splash at the show with a display featuring premieres from two of the fastest-growing brands worldwide, Axopar and Pardo. As we've come to expect, their latest showcase promises to redefine adventure and luxury on the water, offering enthusiasts a glimpse into the future of boating. The Eyachts display at the Sydney Boat Show will feature an array of premieres, highlighting the latest innovations from Axopar and Pardo.

Next month and on the back of an exhibition sell out at Marinas22, space was increased by 25% to accommodate for the extra demand and to provide delegates with a broader range of suppliers to connect with. Marinas24 is a must attend event for marina owners and operators, providing delegates with an efficient and effective way to meet with suppliers and learn about the latest range of products and services available on the market. It offers suppliers an optimal opportunity to connect and engage with key marina industry influencers as they gather in one location for two days.

Also, in Queensland and almost six years since launched by the Queensland Government, Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) and its partners have overseen the removal of more than 1,350 vessels from Queensland's waterways. The current round of funding enables this work to continue to 30 June 2025. MSQ currently has 554 vessels flagged as being of interest. Recognised nationally for its success, the War on Wrecks program has removed the larger vessels that the authorities have been made aware of, focusing recently on the more easily salvaged, smaller craft.

A ground-breaking innovation in trailer boat design is on the horizon with the introduction of the Tomahawk, a single engine, asymmetric hull catamaran designed by world-class skiff champion and sailing luminary Scott Ramsden. "The Tomahawk is characterised by its distinctive reverse rake bows, superior sea keeping and soft riding hulls, and Marine Grade aluminium super structure," said Mr Ramsden, owner of leading aluminium boat designers and builders Blue Diamond Marine on the Gold Coast.

Building upon the success of the Ocean Lily, a FD75 open flybridge model introduced in 2021, Horizon today launched the FD108, a tour de force customized for entertainment and accommodating groups of guests. The FD108 is the culmination of a remarkable collaboration between the owner's youthful flair, Horizon Yachts, and renowned interior design house Cor D. Rover. No design detail was left to chance, from the overall layout to the unique decorative style of each inviting enclave, resulting in a superyacht that seamlessly blends luxurious living, unparalleled entertainment options, and exquisite taste.

In Asia, Wider is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Greater Bay Yachts as the exclusive dealer for Singapore and Hong Kong territories. The agreement encompasses the distribution of Wider's entire serial line, including the appealing WiLder model. Greater Bay Yachts, recognized for their expertise and dedication to excellence in the yachting industry, will serve as the primary point of contact for clients in Singapore and Hong Kong seeking access to Wider's pioneering models. Delivering unparalleled service and support, Greater Bay Yachts is poised to enhance the luxury yachting experience for discerning clientele across these regions.

Luxury marine dealer Ray White Marine group has just been appointed as Sunreef Yachts' exclusive distributor in New Zealand (adding to their existing Australian territory). Ray White Marine has a strong history of sales with overseas Sunreef Yachts with multiple vessels already based in New Zealand and Australia as well as the cutting-edge 60 Sunreef Power Eco announced to be sold by the group recently.
